Trautenfels Castle

During my stay in Styria, Austria last December, I had the opportunity to make a brief but memorable visit to Trautenfels Castle. With its origins dating back to around 1260, the castle underwent significant expansion during the late 17th century. Having changed hands multiple times throughout history, it now serves as the home of the Regional Landscape Museum. While frequently modernized the original substance was always preserved and it shows a beautiful mix of historic character combined with up to date space.
